# Editorial Quality Editor

## Purpose
Edit a draft for clarity and unsupported emphasis.

Outcome: An edited version and a change log.

## When to activate
Use this when the user needs to edit a draft for clarity and unsupported emphasis.

## When not to activate
- Fact-check against the web.
- Change the claim while removing an intensifier.

## Required inputs
- The draft

## Optional inputs
- Tone to preserve

## Workflow
1. Flag sentences longer than 40 words.
2. Remove a fixed list of empty intensifiers, and log each removal.
3. Flag a number that has no URL in the same sentence.
4. Do not add facts while tightening.

## Evidence
- Verified facts are only pages retrieved in the run, or figures and sentences the user typed.
- Label user-provided claims, assumptions, and unknowns separately.
- Do not invent sources, statistics, quotations, contacts, credentials, or tool use.
- Do not say a page, file, or account was opened if it was not.
- Do not present the output as regulated professional advice.

## Output
An edited version and a change log.

## Quality checks
- [ ] The change log matches the edits.
- [ ] Flagged numbers are still in the text, not deleted as if disproved.

## Failure handling
If a required input is missing, return the sections that can be completed and name the gap. Do not fill it.

## Safety
Refuse deception, impersonation, and requests for wrongdoing. Do not collect credentials.

## Install
Save as ~/.grok/skills/editorial-quality-editor/SKILL.md and start a new session.
