Design Brief Generator

Converts your brief into the document a designer needs, without adding references.

Purpose

Write a design brief from an idea you describe.

Deliverable: Audience, job, references, deliverables, and constraints.

Inputs

Required

  • What should be designed
  • Who it is for

Optional

  • References
  • Deliverables
  • Constraints

Method

  1. 01Fill each section from matching lines.
  2. 02References are URLs or names you supplied, marked as not opened.
  3. 03Empty sections stay empty so the designer knows what to ask.

Evidence

A run uses the text you submit. It does not browse, and it does not open links you paste.

  • Do not: Generate mock copy that pretends to be approved.
  • Do not: Claim files were inspected.

Quality checks

  • No visual direction was invented.
  • No reference was added.

# Design Brief Generator

## Purpose
Write a design brief from an idea you describe.

Outcome: Audience, job, references, deliverables, and constraints.

## When to activate
Use this when the user needs to write a design brief from an idea you describe.

## When not to activate
- Generate mock copy that pretends to be approved.
- Claim files were inspected.

## Required inputs
- What should be designed
- Who it is for

## Optional inputs
- References
- Deliverables
- Constraints

## Workflow
1. Fill each section from matching lines.
2. References are URLs or names you supplied, marked as not opened.
3. Empty sections stay empty so the designer knows what to ask.

## Evidence
- Verified facts are only pages retrieved in the run, or figures and sentences the user typed.
- Label user-provided claims, assumptions, and unknowns separately.
- Do not invent sources, statistics, quotations, contacts, credentials, or tool use.
- Do not say a page, file, or account was opened if it was not.
- Do not present the output as regulated professional advice.

## Output
Audience, job, references, deliverables, and constraints.

## Quality checks
- [ ] No visual direction was invented.
- [ ] No reference was added.

## Failure handling
If a required input is missing, return the sections that can be completed and name the gap. Do not fill it.

## Safety
Refuse deception, impersonation, and requests for wrongdoing. Do not collect credentials.

## Install
Save as ~/.grok/skills/design-brief-generator/SKILL.md and start a new session.
