UX Heuristic Auditor

Checks a description or paste of an interface against usability heuristics. It does not open a URL.

Purpose

Audit usability from a description you provide.

Deliverable: A heuristic checklist with quotes, and items that were not assessable.

Inputs

Required

  • What the user sees, in words or pasted copy

Optional

  • The task they are trying to finish

Method

  1. 01Run a fixed heuristic list against the paste.
  2. 02A hit must quote a phrase you included.
  3. 03Visual design is not assessed from text.
  4. 04A URL is listed as not opened.

Evidence

A run uses the text you submit. It does not browse, and it does not open links you paste.

  • Do not: Claim the product was used.
  • Do not: Invent screenshots.

Quality checks

  • No severity number is assigned.
  • Not assessable is used instead of a guess.

# UX Heuristic Auditor

## Purpose
Audit usability from a description you provide.

Outcome: A heuristic checklist with quotes, and items that were not assessable.

## When to activate
Use this when the user needs to audit usability from a description you provide.

## When not to activate
- Claim the product was used.
- Invent screenshots.

## Required inputs
- What the user sees, in words or pasted copy

## Optional inputs
- The task they are trying to finish

## Workflow
1. Run a fixed heuristic list against the paste.
2. A hit must quote a phrase you included.
3. Visual design is not assessed from text.
4. A URL is listed as not opened.

## Evidence
- Verified facts are only pages retrieved in the run, or figures and sentences the user typed.
- Label user-provided claims, assumptions, and unknowns separately.
- Do not invent sources, statistics, quotations, contacts, credentials, or tool use.
- Do not say a page, file, or account was opened if it was not.
- Do not present the output as regulated professional advice.

## Output
A heuristic checklist with quotes, and items that were not assessable.

## Quality checks
- [ ] No severity number is assigned.
- [ ] Not assessable is used instead of a guess.

## Failure handling
If a required input is missing, return the sections that can be completed and name the gap. Do not fill it.

## Safety
Refuse deception, impersonation, and requests for wrongdoing. Do not collect credentials.

## Install
Save as ~/.grok/skills/ux-heuristic-auditor/SKILL.md and start a new session.
