Editorial Quality Editor

Edits for length, weasel words, and bare numbers. The change log says exactly what was removed.

Purpose

Edit a draft for clarity and unsupported emphasis.

Deliverable: An edited version and a change log.

Inputs

Required

  • The draft

Optional

  • Tone to preserve

Method

  1. 01Flag sentences longer than 40 words.
  2. 02Remove a fixed list of empty intensifiers, and log each removal.
  3. 03Flag a number that has no URL in the same sentence.
  4. 04Do not add facts while tightening.

Evidence

A run uses the text you submit. It does not browse, and it does not open links you paste.

  • Do not: Fact-check against the web.
  • Do not: Change the claim while removing an intensifier.

Quality checks

  • The change log matches the edits.
  • Flagged numbers are still in the text, not deleted as if disproved.
